The Tasmania Cyber Security Innovation Node is a partnership of the Tasmanian Government, AustCyber and Enterprize Tasmania. It was officially launched at Enterprize Macquarie House, Launceston, in January 2020.
The Tasmania Node is part of AustCyber’s National Network of Nodes, who collaboratively advance cyber security capability, innovation and commercialisation across Australia. In alignment with the national mission, the Tasmania Node supports industry, education and government to nurture and grow the Tasmanian cyber security sector.
In recognition of Tasmania’s existing industry capabilities, the Tasmania Node’s priority areas for cyber security development are Smart Cities, Internet of Things (IoT) and Marine Technology. The partnership with Enterprize Tasmania provides a solid foundation to support early stage businesses and ecosystem development, with a view to export local capability nationally and internationally.
Activities of the Tasmania Node will be guided by an Industry Advisory Group, to be established. The Industry Advisory Group will include leaders across industry, government, academia, and research; and will be consultants and advocates for the Tasmania Node and AustCyber.
The Tasmania Node establishes a focal point for local industry, and indicates a strong commitment to advance local industry by the Tasmanian Government and AustCyber.
