About the Node

The Canberra Cyber Security Innovation Node was established in 2017, a partnership between the ACT Government and AustCyber to accelerate the growth of the ACT’s cyber security sector in alignment with AustCyber’s national mission. The Canberra Node is a part of AustCyber’s National Network of Nodes, which fosters and accelerates cyber capability development, innovation and commercialisation across Australia.

The Canberra Node works closely with ACT Government, industry, academic and research institutions in the ACT. The Canberra Node is guided by an Industry Advisory Group (IAG). The IAG is responsible for promoting the Canberra cyber security industry, providing strategic direction to the Canberra Node and overseeing the implementation of the Node’s work plan. The IAG also performs an advisory and advocacy function for the Canberra cyber security industry to support the objectives of AustCyber.

ACT Government’s partnership with AustCyber is an important step in the advancement of the cyber security industry in the ACT. The Node is growing and creating jobs while strengthening Canberra’s knowledge economy, particularly in the priority areas of space, defence, and education sectors.
