About the Node
The Townsville Cyber Security Innovation Node was announced in June 2020, a partnership between the Townsville City Council and AustCyber to accelerate the growth of Townville’s cyber security sector in alignment with AustCyber’s national mission.
Delivering increased cyber security capability, talent and education programs across the region, as well as fast-tracking cyber security exports internationally, the Townsville Cyber Security Innovation Node will play a strong role in AustCyber’s National Network of Nodes.
The Townsville Node works closely with the Townsville City Council, Smart Precinct NQ, Office of the Chief Entrepreneur and Trade and Investment QLD, industry bodies, academic and research institutions in the region. Activities of the Node are guided by an Industry Advisory Group that includes leaders across industry, business development, government, academia and research; and will be consultants and advocates for the Townsville Node and AustCyber.
The Townsville City Council partnership with AustCyber is an important step in the advancement of the cyber security industry in region. Growth in the cyber sector has been identified as a key initiative in the digital transformation of the region, touching every business from advanced manufacturing, defence, supply chain and logistics industries.
